Open LMS Process Document
This document describes how MNTS uses OpenLMS to deliver curriculum, manage assignments, and track student progress from pre-enrollment through end-of-semester assessment.

Course setup by MNTS
MNTS creates semester courses in OpenLMS for each proficiency level — 30 courses from Year 1 (Mazhalai) through Year 10 (Units 16–18). Each course is pre-loaded with the full semester's content.

Teacher access provisioned
Upon receiving the enrollment template from a teacher, MNTS creates teacher and student accounts and assigns them to the correct semester course. Setup takes 5–7 business days.

Students enrolled
Students receive Gmail-based access via Google OAuth single sign-on. No separate password is needed. Guest access is always available for preview without enrollment.

Weekly instruction
Teachers deliver lessons using the pre-structured content. Students complete assignments for all four LSRW skills within the OpenLMS interface.

Assignment tracking & grading
Teachers review LSRW submissions through the OpenLMS gradebook. H5P activities auto-grade; speaking and writing require manual teacher review and feedback.

Semester assessments
End-of-semester LSRW assessments are embedded within OpenLMS. Teachers administer and grade them online. Results feed the end-of-year progress report.

Listening (L)
Authentic audio/video exercises with comprehension questions — auto-graded via H5P.
Speaking (S)
Presentational and interpersonal speaking prompts — recorded and submitted for teacher review.
Reading (R)
Authentic text-based reading with vocabulary and comprehension tasks — auto-graded.
Writing (W)
Short compositions and structured writing exercises — teacher-reviewed with feedback.
