OpenLMS Students Manual
This guide explains how to access, navigate, and complete assignments in MNTS OpenLMS. Follow these steps to get started with your Tamil course.

Sign in with your Gmail
Go to openlms.mntamilschool.org. Click 'Login with Google' and sign in with the Gmail address you registered with MNTS. No separate password is needed.

Find your course
After logging in, your enrolled semester courses appear on the dashboard. Select your current semester course (e.g. 'Basic 1 – Semester 1 2025–26').

Navigate the weekly topics
Each course is divided into weekly topics. Click the week's topic to see all activities — Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing tasks are listed in order.

Complete activities
Work through each activity in the topic. H5P activities (listening, reading, grammar) are auto-graded and require 100% mastery. You can retry as many times as needed.

Submit Speaking & Writing
Speaking tasks require an audio or video recording submitted via the OpenLMS assignment tool. Writing tasks require a typed or uploaded response. Check the submission format specified in each task.

Track your progress
View your grades and completion status in the 'Grades' section of your course. Your teacher can also see your progress and will provide feedback on speaking and writing.
Tips
Guest access
If you don't have full access yet, you can visit openlms.mntamilschool.org as a guest to preview any course content without signing in.
Device compatibility
OpenLMS works on any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. An iPad, Chromebook, Mac, or Windows laptop all work.
Audio quality for Speaking
Use a quiet environment when recording speaking assignments. The microphone on a phone or laptop works fine.
Retrying activities
Most H5P activities allow unlimited retries. Keep attempting until you reach 100% — this ensures full understanding before moving on.
