Teacher Training

MNTS is committed to continuous professional development. Training runs throughout the academic year.

Completed programs

• MDE Assessor/Rater Training — aligned with ACTFL; teachers built Tamil Bilingual assessments used statewide.
• BA Tamil Linguistics — 22 teachers graduated through Tanjore Tamil University via TVA.
• Instructional Methodology — a 6-week synchronous course by Dr. Anuradha Gopalakrishnan.
• Interpretive Reading Strategy Workshop — comprehension characteristics, methods, and task design.
• OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview) Workshop — 6-week ACTFL workshop; 10 teachers (Aug–Oct 2022).
• LMS Grading Training — mandatory induction on LSRW grading in the LMS (Nov 2022).

Upcoming / ongoing

• Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) training with ACTFL.
• Annual Teacher Training Workshop — teaching methods, skill-based teaching, and assessment.
