Digital Learning — Virtual Classes

For schools running online/remote Tamil classes. 100% paperless across all 11 levels; students and teachers both have devices in class.

Developed during the pandemic when Tamil schools moved online, this model delivers the full MNTS syllabus — including Basic levels that normally use printed books — entirely through OpenLMS, with no printing.

With authenticated OpenLMS access

  • All content for all curriculum years (Mazhalai, Basic 1–3, Units 1–18) is digital in OpenLMS for teacher and student.
  • Students complete all LSRW assignments digitally; teachers review within OpenLMS.
  • End-of-semester LSRW assessments are available within each course and can be administered remotely.
  • Teachers record attendance and manage the gradebook fully within OpenLMS.

With guest access

  • Teachers and students access all Interpretive Reading/Listening content via guest login (anonymous — not tracked).
  • Students self-practice reading/listening as many times as needed.
  • Speaking/Writing: the teacher runs live sessions; students record with other tools and email the teacher; written work is scanned/photographed and emailed.
  • IPA template questions can be printed and submitted as scanned copies via email.

Assessment (guest access)

  • Assessments are not available under guest login.
  • To receive LSRW assessments, teachers email coursedirector@mntamilschool.org — shared once per semester per teacher on good faith; teachers maintain them thereafter.
