Evidence
Evidence 1: Endowment (https://www.mntamilschool.org/mnts-scholarship/) section lists the 47 total students attaining MN Seal of Bi-literacy from 2016. Teacher and Academic council groom every student towards attainment of any one of the 3 levels of proficiency awarded in state of MN. The placement of levels is intuitively tailored irrespective of the time of starting of their Tamil language learning so that they can follow an achievable target of 3 levels of Bilingual Seal during 10th or 11th grades. Based on the proficiency, Learners are offered counsel for them to choose when to appear for the bilingual assessments during their 10th, 11th OR 12th grade, before their high school graduation.
Evidence 2: Assessment methodology (https://www.mntamilschool.org/grading/) provides a strong framework for the students to understand their proficiency on all 4 LSRW skills and clearly recognize the skills requiring additional focus. Through this learners collaborate with teachers and engage in the focused learning efforts to advance their proficiency on those specific skills.
Evidence 3: Parents-teachers conference (https://www.mntamilschool.org/parent-handbook/) elaborates on how parents teachers conference is used as a powerful tool for feedback. This medium is used for teachers to share the proficiency levels of the students and for the Parents/students to share the feedback on the curriculum, instruction methodology, tools and process. The assessment and conferences are jointly used in setting the actions plan for students to attain goals that support their academic, career, personal, and social skills.
